Reliance Jio has announced an amendment to its Rs 149 plan, which now comes to call complimentary IUC minutes or non-Jio numbers. Jio had previously announced that it would start charging customers for calling non-Jio numbers because IUC or Interconnect usage charges were higher, forcing it to pay because its customers were making calling maximum on external networks. IUC rates in India are currently 6 paise per minute.
The Rs 149 plan will now come with 300 non-Jio calling minutes. But the validity of the plan has been reduced to 24 days, instead, the standard looks at prepaid plans for 28 days. Reliance Jio offers its customers unlimited Jio to Jio calls, non-Jio calls from Jio for up to 300 minutes, 1.5GB daily data and 100 daily SMS under a plan of Rs 149. It also includes a complimentary subscription to Jio’s premium apps. We compare it to other plans of Airtel and Vodafone, which are in the same price range.
